3000 Girls in Nepal | PG 01/03 |
|
We arrived in Nepal in 2000. We came with two things in hand: a word from God that we were to rescue girls and the dream of this happening. Years before Dr. Jose, on a trip to India had come face to face with a Nepalese girl dead on the sidewalk in a local prostitution area; there God began to speak about the rescue of the girls of Nepal. We didn't have money and neither did we know how it was done but we had faith and with that MCM plunged their whole heart into the project and remain faithful and always will be. God also raised other people from other people to help us also, people from other denominations, they all came together united to help the girls of Nepal. The traffic in Nepal is intense yet! Statistics say that 7,000 girls are trafficked each year, but some numbers reach 12,000 a year, especially to the prostitution in our neighbor, India. Many organizations have been working with this same goal, but we noticed that there is greater need. Above all, we noticed that all were much institutionalized, they were too concerned on legal matters that are important in many cases, but many lacked compassion! A human touch in the project. we noticed that even more than a home, the girls need love, care, attention, a friendly word. They needed to be heard in their stories and experiences. To be heard about their frustrated dreams and about thir reconstructed dreams. The difficulties were many and big, it not worth wasting time talking about them in detail, they stayed behind and only brought us growth. They were logistic, human (people who didn't understand and did not want to understand our objectives), financial at sime moments, emotional, spiritual, persecution even to the point of governments involved with us, cultural difficulties, etc. etc. etc. But as we said....they passed, they were overcome by the grace of God. They were cited only for you to know they existed and some still exist, but they are not worth spending more time speaking about them than in this paragraph. The present happiness is bigger than the past pain, hope overcame the frustrations, and faith overcame the doubts, love overcame the fear. God did all this. He is good!! The girls began to come in 2001: the first was Rushimila that came with the wrong name because of translation, her real name was Rhesma, but to make it easier, she chose to be called Raquel. She came small, cold, scared, and she began to grow up, she began to gain confidence in God and in us, and today she is a beautiful young woman, happy, and who loves to dance, sing, dream, she has been to Brazil, and she has greater dreams. Then came Promila!! She decided to keep the name Promila, but also took Ima on documents, because she wanted to be a "Mother of Nations" which is the meaning of the name in Hebrew, like a Sarah of Abraham. Today she is a Pastor, brokenhearted, anointed, and humble. Then came Menuca, bald, and who looked like a boy, but she became Angela, a beautiful young woman, beloved daughter, and a companion. After her came Prisca, and now we were in 2003. CONTINUE... l Next > |
